In support of our continuing strong business growth, we have an exciting opportunity to join the Business Palnning Team, as aRegional Demand Plannerin Chicago, IL or Houston, TX

Key Objective:

The Regional Demand Planner is responsible for delivering a monthly demand plan as part of the business planning process as a fundamental input to the Demand Management Review process. The Regional Demand Planner will use their knowledge of the business and our markets to combine statistical forecasting practices and scenario planning to develop the sales forecast. The role will provide essential focus on increasing the efficiency of our entire supply chain through improving forecast accuracy and associated KPIs to ensure the right products are available for our customers, while minimizing operational costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demand Forecast:
    • Analyse and manage the regional demand forecast and compare with historical sales (1 to 24-month horizon), aggregated as necessary
    • Compare demand history aligned to forecast for continuous process improvement
    • Monthly reporting of Demand Management scorecard
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Coordinate the execution of the demand plan with regional sales and customer services teams, managing any exceptions with supply capability
    • Collaborate with Sales Managers to ensure key assumptions on all anticipated market movements and commercial strategy are reflected within the forecasts
    • Actively communicate situation on slow moving/discontinued products to the Sales Managers to maximise possible revenue
  • Forecast Segmentation and Statistical Forecast Models:
    • Determine the best segmentation model for our business patterns & implement into Arkieva, to provide guidelines for sales managers and planners in support of their forecastingactivities
    • Ensure new product/plant combinations are assigned the relevant statistical model

  • SAP Master Data:
    • Create & deliver training of users of SAP/R3 to support continuous improvement (Planners, Sales Managers, and Customer Service etc.)
  • Power User Arkieva:
    • Acts as a project leader/participant in demand management projects with a focus on SAP and Arkieva changes. Scope includes the management of external expertise
    • Maintenance of Arkieva master data (re-alignments) relevant for the forecast process
  • Business Planning:
    • Provide input to the Supply Management Review (SMR) for developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
    • Participate in the Demand Supply Review (DSR) to drive short-term, tactical implementation of the approved plans
    • Collaborate throughout the IBP cycle in the development of the plan, providing analytics and reports in support of the process
  • Improvement Suggestions:
    • Propose tools and structures for the improvement of the planning function and, after consultation the IBP Manager, implements these structures
    • Manage specific Supply Chain projects to meet budget requirements, project timelines, goals, business objectives
  • Skills:
    • Understanding of forecasting models & statistics (to discern differences between model parameters and identify best models to forecast)
    • MS Excel capability: pivot tables, spreadsheet modelling and analysis
    • Familiarity with Power BI
    • Working knowledge of SAP

Education and Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline
  • Highly proficient in MS Office packages
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Demonstrable capability to analyse data (including mass cross-reference data validation, trending, and forecasting)
  • Strong communication skills; able to communicate with all functional levels within the business
  • Experience with SAP (or equivalent ERP system), Business Warehouse (or equivalent data warehouse) or Arkieva (or equivalent advanced planning software) preferred
  • Solid understanding of Supply Chain and business processes
  • Ability to prioritize and proactively complete projects with little direction
  • Process driven attitude and results-orientated
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP is preferred
  • Willing to travel (approx.10% Regional or Global)
