Zone 5 is a component of concept developed by United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The concept is known as Hardiness zone, which is a geographically defined area, where only certain plants are capable of growing, as defined by climatic conditions. Thus, only specific plants have the ability to survive in the minimum temperatures of the zone. There are 12 zones of the heat-zone map which indicates the average number of “heat-days” each year, the region will face.
